What Others Say?

{So my boss gave me this “donkey cone” thing and I’ve had it in my toolbox for a while now. Yesterday I came across a spring that I needed to add tension to. Some genius had beaten the cone up so bad that one of the plugs was broken off. I could not put a bar in it without it spinning out. I used the “donkey cone” to add the tension and it worked perfect. Glad I have it on my truck.

{Don’t know how someone didn’t come up with this sooner. We work on Windloaded doors with 3"-6" every day. Hate using short bars to wind springs. This is the best tool on the truck. It has saved my butt many times.

{I saw a post on Facebook about the Donkey Cone. After talking with Jeff about the safety aspect of the tool I ended up buying a couple of them to put one on each of my trucks. Last year I had an employee who had regular winding bar that was cut in half because he was in a tight spot get loose on him and he ended up with 160 stiches. That would have been prevented if he had this tool at the time. To me this tool is priceless when it comes to safely first. We use it all the time.

{I purchased a Donkey Cone for one of my trucks. It sat for a couple of weeks until a tech called in and said he needed some help with removing an 18′ wood overlay top panel. It was a low head room set up with 3 springs and the center spring was broken. Problem was that he was 30 miles away and I had no one available to send that way. So I asked the tech if he had tried “that thing” that was on his truck we bought a couple of weeks ago. He broke it out and it worked perfect. Saved me time and money the first time we needed it. Now each truck has one. Great idea!
